A great place within the Art Museum for a "pit stop" while in between tours or exhibits.
Sodas, coffees, teas, pastries, etc.
I have to say after trying the Caffe Cubano-I am sold!
What is Caffe Cubano-
Café Cubano is a type of espresso that originated in Cuba. Specifically, it refers to an espresso shot which is sweetened with demerara sugar as it is being brewed." Source: Wikipedia
However, this had milk and hints of cinnamon and was absolutely perfect-more like a double caffe cubano in my opinion!
It will NOT disappoint!
FYI-Correct Spelling of the cafe according to the museum is Caffè Moderno. Also they use their own spelling for the Cubano! -

This is a great cafe nestled in the heart of the museum. I had the best squash soup at the recommendation of the server and a yummy salad. The seating area was clean and it was a convenient noise level for conversation. The price point is slightly moderate and I felt some things were slightly higher, however the quality of the food was good. The coffee was also good.

If you like coffee out of a 45-cup urn to then this is your place. If you want an espresso drink then they run out so get there early.

The Art Institute is so massive, we would have been masochistic to continue non-stop without any semblance of a break. My companion and I were hoping to get a small snack, but they were out of soup so we settled for a Blondie brownie and some fancy coffee (coco for me). There are only a few tables and chairs are not allowed at the ones near the ledge, so we stood for a bit until a space cleared. It was just the recharge we needed to get invigorated to look at more art.

Convenient during a long day at the Art Institute but not your typical coffee shop. I thought everything was a bit pricey so I ordered a small bowl of soup and was presented with real dishes, silverware and a chunk of bread! I was impressed.
There are not a lot of tables so we ended up sitting at little library cubes along the sides. Clean and comfortable, the hubs and I discussed the art viewed that AM and planed a strategy for the PM.
The soup was asparagus with potato leek, not a whole lot of flavor but I perked it up with an extra jolt of black pepper and I became happier and It gave me the energy to hit the modern exhibit and power through a second turn through the impressionists.
